title = "Exercise-Induced Anaphylaxis",
abstract = "Exercise-induced anaphylaxis (EIAn) is a rare clinical syndrome in which anaphylaxis occurs during or shortly a fler physical exertion. The syndrome includes two diseases: exercise induced anaphylaxis and food-depend exercise-induced anaphylaxis (FEIAn). The underlying pathophysiology of both diseases is not known well yet. Diagnosis of EIAn and FEIAn is based on clinical history. Exercise challenge test is not necessary for the diagnosis but other conditions that mimic ElAn should be excluded. In FEIAn, IgE sensitization to the culprit food should be demonstrated either skin prick test or in vitro immunoassays. Management of ETAn/FDEIAn includes patient education about the early symptoms, avoiding exercise, the culprit food and triggering cofactors. All patients should carry an adrenaline autoinjector with them all time. In case reports, cromolyn sodium, antihistamines, misoprostol and omalizumab are reported useful for prevention of EIAn/FEIAn symptoms.",
