Examination of digital leadership self-efficacy levels of private hospital managers in the COVID-19 period: Ankara case

Özet

This research aims to determine the levels of digital leadership in order to better manage the digital transformation processes that the digitaliza-tion phenomenon in the health field and to determine how this leadership can be developed. In order to determine and reveal the digital leadership self-efficacy levels of private hospital managers, the digital leadership self-efficacy level of managers are investigated in the areas of visionary leadership, digital age learning culture, excellence in professional practice, systematic development, and digital citizenship dimensions. Within the scope of the digitalization phenomenon in the health sector, it is expected to examine the necessary digital leadership self-efficacy of the managers in order to successfully manage the digital transformation processes in which the hospitals are involved and to provide inferences about what can be done to increase the current competence levels. According to the results of the study, most of the managers in health institutions are interested in digitalization. More than half of the managers did not receive training on digitalization and did not organize any training on digitalization in their institutions, and almost all of the managers agree on the need for digitalization in the field of health increased during the pandemic. In this context, one of the most important values for organizations today is to find managers or leaders who will follow these rapid changes and adapt their structures and processes to this change. The COVID-19 pandemic that changed the world has once again shown how important it is for managers to be more proactive.
