Biosorption of heavy metals by fungal biomass and modeling of fungal biosorption: A review

The biosorption of heavy metals by fungal biomass and modeling of fungal biosorption was reviewed. Biosorption presented passive cation binding by dead of living biomass and represented a potentially cost-effective way of eliminating toxic heavy metals from industrial waste waters. The range of equilibrium sorption models and diffusion and sorption models in different reactor systems was used for correlation of experimental data for fungal biosorption.
