Abstract
Objective: The purpose of the study is to adapt Quality of Life Inventory (QOLI) which is developed by Frisch (1992) for Persian and Turkish students, and assess its psychometrics properties. Method: The participants were chosen from undergraduate students from studying in Turkey and Iran during the 2016-2017 academic year. Female students consist of about half of the students who were 229 of 410 Iranian and, 295 of 473 Turkish students. Result: The language equivalence was assessed and strong positive and significant correlations were obtained between English-Persian and English-Turkish versions (r=.96) in the first stage. At the second stage, confirmatory factor analysis was performed. The factor loadings are between .25 and .70 for Turkish Form of QOLI. The average variance extracted (AVE) is .29, the composite reliability (CR) coefficient is .86, the Cronbach alpha (a) coefficient is .85 and, corrected item-total correlation coefficients are between .26 and .60. Besides, the factor loadings are between .38 and .55 for Persian Form of QOLI. The AVE is .23, CR is .83, Cronbach a is .83 and, the corrected item-total correlation coefficients are between .34 and .48. Moreover, partial scalar invariance is ensured between Persian and Turkish Forms. In the third stage, independent t test was performed and the mean of QOLI scores of Iranian students were higher than the Turkish students (t822= 5.55; p< .05). Conclusion: The QOLI Turkish and Persian Forms are designed by 16 items and 32 questions similar to the English forms.
