Abstract
Verbascum, Scrophularia, and Buddleja species have been used in traditional medicine for centuries in almost all parts of the world. In this review, we discuss the current knowledge of the neuroprotective activities and mechanisms of these Scrophulariaceae and Buddlejaceae plants and their secondary metabolites.
