Tetra-aqua-bis[4-(dimethyl-amino)benzoato-kO]manganese(II) dihydrate

The title Mn^II complex, [Mn(C9H10NO2)2(H2O)4]·2H2O, is monomeric and centrosymmetric. It contains two 4-dimethyl-amino-benzoate ligands, four coordinated and two uncoordin-ated water mol-ecules, all ligands being monodentate. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Mn atom form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two water O atoms in the axial positions. In the crystal structure, intra- and inter-molecular O - H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains.
