Abstract

People’s life pass to create an identity, and around it with seeking for establishing stable partnerships. Culture, identity, and state building are intertwined processes, rising on common pains and joys. Culture or collective memory is the foundation of the identity, identity is the base of the nation. To protect cultural values is as important as to improve, and to change providing the continuity. Events such as the infestation, and the influx of population beside the internal dynamics plays a definite role for the development of culture. During the long journey on history from the Altai to the Mediterranean, The Turks have faced numerous religious, and ethnic culture. The dynamic structure that was based on continual to develop and to change has been one of the main factors, carrying them to the great states and empires. At the present time, on one hand the Turks works with the pain of the cultural changing, on the other hand they struggle with important problems such as unhealthy urbanization, identity problems, values crisis, cultural erosion, terrorism, brought of the age in XXth century. Beside these developments which caused great shock in the cultural and social life, interculturality, industrialization of culture, clash of civilization take places on the agenda. In our study, it will be tried as critically read the cultural horizons of the Turkish World on the beginning of XXIth century, in terms of threats and opportunities in the context of historical experience, and the identity search.
