Abstract
The crystal structure of 2-phenyl-2H-phthalazine-1-one was determined. Each ring of phthalazine formed by C3-C4-C5-C6-C7-C8 and N1-N2-C1-C2-C7-C8 is planar with a dihedral angle of 3.7(1)°. The phenyl ring is not in the same plane with phthalazine. The dihedral angle between the phenyl ring and phthalazine is 53.0(1)°. The phenyl ring is twisted according to phthalazine. 2004
