Abstract
From the unripe cones of Pinus halepensis (Pinaceae), (+)- catechin, (-)- epicatechin and (+)- gallocatechin as peracetate derivatives and procyanidin B1, B3, B4, B6 and B7 as decaacetates were isolated and identified. The major components were (+)+ catechin, procyanidin B3 and procyanidin B6. The unripe cones contained 4.63% total procyanidins.
