Abstract
Eight patients with primary tubal carcinoma of the fallopian tube are presented. These patients constituted 0.3% of all gynecological malignancies encountered during the period the study was conducted. The most common symptom was abnormal vaginal bleeding (4 patients). All patients but one had extra tubal disease at the time of surgery. No patient was operated with a preoperative diagnosis of tubal cancer. All patients were subjected to primary surgical therapy. An adjuvant therapy, radiotherapy (3 patients) and chemotherapy (5 patients) were given. Only three patients are living with a mean survival of 30 months.
