Abstract
Rehabilitation process becomes very complex when a patient is presented with multiple disabilities such as amputation of a hemiplegic extremity. The patient presented here was a sixty three years old left hemiparetic man who underwent amputation surgery due to diabetes mellitus 25 years after the development of hemiplegia. While he had a typical hemiplegic gait before the amputation, he became wheelchair dependent following the amputation. Physiotherapy programme was started two months after the surgery. Neurophysiological approaches and prosthetic rehabilitation were applied for 3 weeks. Finally, the patient reached a functional level of walking with the aid of a cane.
