Abstract
Delirium, which is seen as disturbance of consciousness, impaired cognition, memory, perception and thinking, is an important complication seen in the postoperative period. Because it is related with poor recovery especially in older patients, longer length of hospital stay and increased morbidity and mortality; being aware of the risk factors, prevention and treatment of delirium is important for anesthesiologists. In this case report, we discuss the management of delirium in a patient after eye surgery, which we think is due to hyperthyroidism of the patient.
