Abstract
Neuroendocrine carcinomas are most commonly detected in lungs and gastrointestinal system and are rarely seen in female genital tract. Although all sites of female genital system may be involved, most common genital primaries are uterine cervix and ovaries. Nevertheless, primary endometrial neuroendocrine carcinoma is an extremely rare neoplasm which has an aggressive course with a high tendency of extrauterine spread at the time of diagnosis. The prognosis is considerably poor accordingly. Optimal surgical and adjuvant therapeutic options have not been clarified yet due to its rarity. In this article, a relatively young case with neuroendocrine carcinoma confined to endometrium is reported and the origin of disease, its clinical features, diagnostic, and therapeutic options are discussed.
