Abstract
This study aims to develop a domain ontology and a web based visualization tool to visualize and illustrate the use of ontology for e-learning environments. In this study, first, a domain is selected to develop ontology. Based on the review on ontology development methodologies, an ontology development method for apothegms is established. Secondly, ontology development methodology is explained in detail. Development steps of selected methodology and the terms used in ontology development are described. In the last section, the use and the benefits of apothegm ontology in elearning environments are discussed.
