Abstract
The pituitary gland is located at the base of the brain and produces hormones that regulate many other endocrine glands in the body. Pituitary gland disorders include acromegaly, prolactinoma, diabetes insipidus, and hypopituitarism. The majority of disorders are caused by tumors, which are usually benign. Treatment of pituitary disorders varies depending on the underlying cause and may include medical, surgical treatment and radiotherapy.
