Abstract

Introduction: A caliceal diverticulum is an anomalous nonfunctional urothelial cavity. Retrograde filling and poor drainage of these cavities may lead to infection and calculus formation. Although most caliceal diverticula are asymptomatic, they can be associated with significant urologic symptoms. Symptomatic patients need treatment and fortunately they have many options. However treatment options are unique and can be challenging even for an experienced endourologist. We reviewed the indications, surgical options and outcomes for the treatment of caliceal diverticula.
