Abstract

Solar module I-V Characteristic Curves represent the current and voltage (I-V) characteristics of a particular photovoltaic (PV) module. This curve gives a detailed description of the ability of solar energy conversion and efficiency of the module. Therefore it is of vital importance to know the electrical I-V Characteristics of the module in determining the output performance and solar efficiency of the module. In this study it is aimed to compare the output performance of different PV modules produced from different manufacturers. The experiments are performed under sufficient sun light. Load of the each module are increased the current values corresponding the voltage at each load level is measured. By this way the I-V curve of each module are obtained experimentally. Finally, the curves of the modules are compared with each other. The performance of the modules are presented and discussed. The results indicate that each panel has its own features. Therefore, it is possible to make classification of the modules using information obtained from I-V curves of the modules.
