Abstract
Objective: Burnout is a frequently seen condition in occupations dealing with humans. The aim of this study was to determine the reasons and level of occupational stress and burnout and compare them among resident doctors at Anesthesiology department and internal medicine department. Method: The input was collected from 58 Anesthesiology and 49 Internal medicine residents using an occupational stress scale and the Maslach Burnout Scale. Results: According to the results of the study, there was no significant difference between the two groups in respect to occupational stress and burnout. Conclusion: Social support and trustfull environment are protectif against burnout syndrome.
