Abstract

LPI (Low Probability of Intercept) radars are based on an advanced architecture which makes use of coded pulses. As a synergetic byproduct, a low probability of intercept is also achieved due to the low power levels of LPI radars. In this study, some classification based methods for the uncooperative detection of LPI radar pulses are proposed. We specialized on polyphase and polytime type LPI signal pulses and developed methods for the automatic identification of these types of signals by eigenimage methods based on time-frequency transformations.
